MONSTER HUNTER

In this piece, man and monster are drawn together, in charcoal, accross a clean backdrop of white. The symbols, displayed in black ink along the upper middle portion of the composition, read "Monster Sale." The geographic and temporal context of the piece are suggested through the framing of subjects, and the featural syllabary selected. The imagry and iconography provide a framework for contextualization, while the composition of subjects and phraseology of the work's title, evoke ideas of the demystification of history, the decay of heritage, and the commodification of culture.
